Welcome to my GLASS BEACH SHRINE!!!! a shrine dedicated to my absolute favorite band

i've been listening to this band for about three years now. i've found a lot of solace in listening to their music and it's helped me get through some pretty rough headspaces

About Glass Beach

Glass Beach (artist and song titles stylized in lowercase) is an indie rock band originally formed in Los Angeles, although now based in Seattle. The band was formed by lead singer J McClendon in 2019 and has since released three* albums and a variety of singles

almost all of my favorite glass beach songs come from the album and honestly? it's probably due to bias from what it's gotten me through. Their first album impacted me so much when i first listened to it that they've been my favorite band ever since

When comparing this one to their second album release, I believe it has higher-highs when I like a song, but lower-lows when I dislike a song.

Honestly not my favorite release ever, probably because it's a remix album. this album features remixes of songs from tfgba made by over 15 different artists

a lot of these songs just sound a lot different from glass beach's usual style, and i can be picky when listening to music

their most recent release!! to me this album feels a lot more consistent than tfgba and i really enjoy how different it is from the first album (though it did take me a little to get used to)

probably my favorite of all the singles

i fear i like the other versions of this song a lot better

this ones alright, my opinion changes on it a lot

a cover of a song made by Car Seat Headrest! i like it and i listen to it every once in a while (it's also probably the longest song i have ever listened to)

another cover but of a song made by My Chemical Romance! i listen to this one a lot more than the original even though i actually quite like the band

Demos!!

glass beach released the demos of both of the albums they've released! though i've only been able to access the one to their first album so far (eventually i'll have money for patreon,,, plastic death i'm coming for you,,,)

for those who don't know, a demo version of songs are versions made before their final release. their main purpose is to gauge where songwriters want to go next with their process or to just generally show the direction of where the final version of a song is going

the lead singer of glass beach and honestly someone i look up to a lot! obviously i don't put her on a pedestal (don't do that with famous people you don't know in person guys) but as a trans person i just really admire her and her songwriting. a lot of her music has had a huge impact on me and like i mentioned earlier, has gotten me through a few rough times

Apart from making music for glass beach, she's also made some music solo under the alias' of casio dad, classic j, and most recently, you are an angel. some of my favorites of hers specifically come from the third

i was so excited for this one to release once i heard about it on the glass beach patreon, and it did not fail me. i absolutely love this album

i feel listening to it's fine to dream has, over time, had a similar impact on me as tfgba and a lot of my current favorite songs come from this album
